Together we are One

Our Story

Starting in June 2016,  Zep Foundation established “World Digital Detox Day.” (WDDD)

Zep Wellness Foundation is a non-profit organization (NPO) that has been conducting wellness-and well-being research in India for the past seventeen years, focusing on secluded rural communities and indigenous groups in an effort to uncover the Indian ancient secrets of a healthy way of life and behavioral pattern that have been lost in the modern world.

Knowing more about the tribal lifestyle, their food habits, and mindset enabled  Zep Foundation to empower the rural tribal youth, primarily women in the wellness industry with a successful ratio of transformation of more than 2000 youth.

The foundation’s uniqe international movement is setting up “World Digital Detox Day.” The WDDD initiative includes starting Digital Detox Education at a young age, the younger generation needs to understand the importance of creating wellness hours in their schools that are solely focused on digital detox, mental health, and wellness. The first wellness-hours curriculum in India and the entire world will be introduced to schools on December 10, 2022, taking this into consideration.

WDDD foundation believes. Establishing healthy guidelines and boundaries for our relationship with technology is the first step toward doing this, and doing so from a young age will prevent society from developing digital dementia. This initiative will allow us to maintain elements of our non-digital humanity in this age of technology

In addition to these achievements, the foundation opens doors of opportunity for women working in the wellness business and has successfully altered the lives of thousands of children. The organization also runs a number of other programs, such as offering educational utilities to students and instructing them on how to maintain a healthy balance between their lives online and off.

We also want to nurture a healthy relationship between technology and happiness while promoting mental wellness. With the increasing grip of technology in every sphere of our lives, Dr. Rekha foresaw the challenges and worked towards bringing thought leaders from various industries like wellness, healthcare, government, technology, and education to reduce the impact of digital overload

A Growing Revolution

Since its inception, the Global Digital Detox Day has gained momentum with more and more people joining the bandwagon.  There has been a growing consciousness of how technology can force one to lead dual lives and adversely impact one’s mental wellbeing.

Our Purpose

With the World Digital Detox Day we want to bring about a revolution in the use of technology driving people towards its conscious and judicious use. Our focus is to help people lead a life fully ‒ meaningfully and purposefully – to take them closer to a balanced and holistic lifestyle, which promises both mental and physical wellbeing.

Founder’s Message

Founder’s Message

"I have been a Global Wellness Ambassador for more than a decade now and I know the importance of physical wellbeing but my passion for working towards holistic wellness of people has also made me take notice of this burgeoning problem of Digital Addiction. Our lives have become slaves to the digital world, we constantly and almost aimlessly browse for hours, binge watch content, and are glued for validation on social media. And this has resulted in a one of its kind epidemic of digital addiction. It is a challenge that is eating up on the raw energy and zest of our new generation. And this challenge inspired me to start World Digital Detox Day, an initiative that concentrates on mental wellness."

Inspirations

There is a growing cadre of experts from across a variety of disciplines wh re beginning to think about these issues. Sub-disciplines that fall under Digital Wellness include Digital Ethics, Digital Citizenship, Digital Mindfulness, Digital Nutrition, and Digital Education.

The need is emerging for a new field of Digital Wellness that brings together these diverse viewpoints on the relationship between technology and wellbeing and seeks to establish a holistic and unified approach to these issues.

By establishing healthy guidelines and boundaries for our relationship with technology, a holistic and sustainable approach to technology use and adoption will allow us to maintain elements of our non-digital humanity in the age of technology

"Almost Everything will Work again if you Unplug it for a while, including you"

Manifesto

Let’s work to make technology an assistant in celebrating life fully instead of draining out our energies and drifting us towards a make-belief world.
